Dr. Larsen graduated from Loma Linda University (LLU) School of Dentistry in 1994 and received an award in implantology. He was one of only two in his dental class that received such an award that year. (At that time, and still currently Loma Linda University is the undisputed leader in America for dental implantology!) Currently, he is the most experienced metal-free dental implant surgeon for the most advanced ceramic dental implant system currently available in the USA, for all of central and northern California (according to the manufacturer). He has helped develop a minimally invasive dental implant techniques that typically allows him to replace a single rooted- mildly infected, hopeless, dead and/or failed root canal tooth in a single appointment (this assumes no gum disease is present and this includes the minimally invasive extraction of the tooth combined with special cleaning of the socket combined with healthy grafting). Followed by a simple crown placement appointment about four months later.
He has personally met with the FDA regarding the evaluation of cutting edge dental implant design, technology and discussed bio-compatibility issues.
He is currently one of an extremely small number of dentists that has personally tested dental implant material for compatibility! By utilizing standard FDA bio-compatibility testing along with the use of extremely advanced testing equipment, he has been able to evaluate what dental implant materials are extremely bio-compatible and well tolerated by literally everyone! Dr. Larsen believes truly non-toxic implant dentistry is the ultimate level in implant dentistry.
He is the inventor of the"Healing Rings". This allows him to typically remove a non-molar tooth and place a dental implant the very same day with only one minor surgical appointment. Three months later, you can typically have a crown placed on top of the dental implant without signifient numbing, surgical intervention, parts and/or special equipment being needed.
